Description
Hexx is an American heavy metal band formed in 1983 in San Francisco, California. Originally known as Paradox, they changed their name to Hexx shortly after forming. The band is known for its style that has spanned various metal subgenres, transitioning from traditional heavy metal to thrash metal, and eventually to death metal over the course of their career.
Their debut album, “No Escape,” was released in 1984 and featured a classic heavy metal sound. This was followed by “Under the Spell” in 1986, which continued to build their reputation in the metal scene. In the late 1980s, Hexx adopted a more aggressive thrash metal sound, as evidenced by the EP “Quest for Sanity” in 1988 and the album “Watery Graves” in 1990.
With their 1991 album, “Morbid Reality,” the band further evolved their style towards death metal, showcasing increased brutality and technicality.
After a long period of inactivity during the 1990s and 2000s, Hexx reformed in 2013. With a new lineup and renewed enthusiasm, they released the album “Wrath of the Reaper” in 2017, marking a return to their heavy metal roots with a modern twist. The band continues to be active in the metal scene, performing at various festivals and working on new music.
