Indianapolis death metal duo HAMARR unleash their debut full-length, ‘Necrotic Rituals’, via Iron Fortress Records on digital, vinyl, CD, and cassette, delivering a crushing blend of Swedish chainsaw worship and extreme metal aggression, summoning heavy, unrelenting death metal that lands with the weight of iron striking iron.
Fuelled by raw HM-2 power, thunderous death metal drumming crossed with d-beat aggression, and suffocating low-end, ‘Necrotic Rituals’ sees HAMARR channelling the dark power of Entombed and Dismember while drawing on the blunt-force savagery of bands like Black Breath. Across ten tracks, HAMARR strip their sound to its most volatile and violent essence, forging songs upon a blackened anvil, each track loaded with cavernous aggression capable of stirring slumbering horrors long buried in the aeons.
‘Necrotic Rituals’ was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Caleb Lewis at Champion O.I. in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and performed entirely by HAMARR. Artwork and logo were created by Moribund Art, with photography by Jess Kaminski of Spellbound Photography. Guest appearances from Alex Cloutier (Primal Horde) and Kurtis Hall (1 Body 6 Graves) seep further venom into the record, their contributions amplifying the album’s already merciless atmosphere.
