Durango’s ALL MISERY have spent more than a decade forging extreme music: technical death-metal riffing, slammed into crushing low-end breakdowns. No apology, no dilution. Nightmare in a World of Doom (originally released digitally in 2023) is that sound fully locked in – seven tracks of deathcore/death metal that treat the world as already in ruins, and then pile on.
Mermek Avitia’s vocals sit in the middle of the wreckage: guttural, barked, and relentless. David Briseño and Alda stack fast, sometimes technical guitar work against the kind of breakdowns that feel like the floor giving way. Iván Galindo’s drums and Alan de Santiago’s bass keep the whole thing moving between blast and slam without losing the band’s core identity.
The record opens with Exile and Broken Hearts, then walks straight into slaughter. Guest spots from Luke Griffin (Acrania) on “Walking on Slaughter” and Adam Mercer (A Wake in Providence) on “Embrace the Betrayer” raise the violence. “Ultra Violence Mx” and “Empathy Has Ended” close the album like a last transmission from a planet that’s already given up.
This is not a concept album with a tidy story. It’s a snapshot of the same hopeless, destructive view the band has carried since they formed: society collapsing, empathy gone, the nightmare already here. CDN Records releasing it now gives the record the platform it’s always deserved.
