Biography
Emerging from Ecuador’s underground extreme metal scene in 2009, PLEASURE OF MUTILATE (POM) has forged its identity through an uncompromising approach to Brutal Death Metal, combining crushing riffs, relentless drumming, guttural vocals, and dark, conceptual atmospheres.
Beyond its musical brutality, the band explores a universe shaped by cosmic horror, extraterrestrial mysteries, ancient Sumerian and Babylonian mythology, interdimensional phenomena, and the writings of H. P. Lovecraft. These influences form the foundation of a distinctive conceptual identity in which ancient knowledge, cosmic terror, and the unknown converge.
The band’s recorded history includes Destroying Human Abomination, an early release available digitally, followed by Premonition (2018) and Mortal Divinity (2021), released through CDN Records, followed by Descendants ov Nibiru released through Lord of the Sick Recordings. In 2026, PLEASURE OF MUTILATE reached another milestone through its inclusion in Death Metal Tribute To OZZY, a worldwide compilation organized and released by Death Metal Promotion. Representing Ecuador, the band contributed its own death metal interpretation of “Paranoid,” the legendary Black Sabbath song associated with Ozzy Osbourne.
Later this year, PLEASURE OF MUTILATE prepares to unveil APOTHEOSIS, a new full-length album that marks a further evolution in the band’s musical and conceptual identity. The album explores the mysticism and cosmic horror surrounding the power of the mind, the hidden dimensions of existence, and the unsettling boundaries between consciousness and the unknown. Musically, it pushes POM toward a more brutal, technical, atmospheric, and evolved sound, combining uncompromising sonic aggression with darker textures and a deeper conceptual dimension. With ten tracks forming a unified journey into the unknown, APOTHEOSIS represents a new chapter in PLEASURE OF MUTILATE’s trajectory: a convergence of extreme musical intensity, metaphysical exploration, and cosmic horror.
