Technical Melodic Death Metal
SYMPULS-E “Solarstorm” delivers an interesting album full of progressive melodic death metal idiosyncrasies alongside virulent songwriting and excellent lead guitar work. “Solarstorm” certainly lives up to its title on an ephemeral nature, evoking a maelstrom of tempos with sweeping and meticulous guitar leads that really elevate the music, while the mix of synths, progressively clean vocals, along with death metal vocals add an interesting depth and sincerity to the music.
Russian bands tend to step outside the box and SYMPULS-E are no exception. At moments frenetic and dark, and at other times elegant and ominous. More sincere and underground that the well-known names in this genre.
