Wrath of Belial

Biography

Wrath of Belial sounds like being run over by a freight train; just when you expect the relentless pummeling to be over, you’re struck right in the kisser. Born out of the Danish underground metal scene, Wrath of Belial has its roots in the death metal band Pariah Syndicate, originating from Aarhus, Denmark and formed in the year 2007. Shortly after the formation, the band won the Danish Metal Contest in their very first live performance. Pariah Syndicate released the EP “….And Blood Shall Rain From Heaven” which was widely recognized by various web magazines, as well as the Danish music magazine Gaffa.

The band played a wide range of concerts together with acts such as Decapitated, Evergrey, Hatesphere, The Psyke Project and Artillery, to name but a few.

Wrath of Belial’s debut album “Bloodstained Rebellion” was released to the world in May 2017. Reviews were overall positive with positive feedback and highlights from – among others – Angry Metal Guy (4.0/5.0, Great), Pavilion Magazine (9.5/10), Powermetal.de (8.5/10) and a recommendation from No Clean Singing. The release was supported with a handful of shows across Denmark, where the band shared the stage with the Norwegian Hard Hitters Blood Red Throne and Italian Death Metal Masters from Fleshgod Apocalypse, among others.

“Embers of Dead Empires”, Wrath of Belial’s pummeling upcoming sophomore effort, is a monument to the darker side of human behavior and indifference shown to our surroundings. Citing influences that range from Aborted, Suffocation, Cannibal Corpse and Mastodon, Embers of Dead Empires comprises 10 tracks of heavy riffing, blistering leads and hectic, piercing vocals. Weighting groove less, and hooks more, the record shows a refined and focused songwriting for an overall accessible and concise listening experience.

The band enlisted, once again, drumming powerhouse Bastian Thusgaard (Soilwork, Dawn of Demise, The Arcane Order) and added local guitar virtuoso Alex Bossen of OXX fame as lead player for finalizing writing and bringing the tracks to life. Drumming phenomenon Robin Stone provided his skills for a single track. Mendel beij de Leij (Aborted, Severe Torture) mixed and mastered the record while Jacob Bredahl turned the knobs during drum tracking.

Embers of Dead Empires represents a new chapter for Wrath of Belial; a band ready to present the music to the audience – both online and on the stage.
