GERMAN HEAVY/SPEED METAL PIONEER FROM THE 80s!
MAD BUTCHER is from Essen, Germany, and the story began in January 1981. Harry Elbracht and 3 of his buddies (Guggi Schirrmacher, Sydney Keller, and Manni Salhöfer) have been the Hard Rock and Heavy Metal freaks for years. Grown-up with their heroes from JUDAS PRIEST, Ted Nugent, and other bands from the USA (RIOT, MOLLY HATCHET, Y&T) or England (MOTÖRHEAD, SAXON, IRON MAIDEN), they want to show the world that cool music is also possible in Germany. So, MAD BUTCHER was born!
MAD BUTCHER’s debut full-length album “Metal Lightning Attack” was originally released in 1985 and remastered in 2020 by the great Patrick W. Engel at Temple of Disharmony. Awakening Records is proud to officially reissue this masterpiece, including bonus tracks, numerous early photos, flyers, as well as band biography and interviews.
