TombWorm

Biography

From the rot-soaked underground of Montreal, Québec, TombWorm erupted in 2024 with a mission to drag death metal back into the dirt. With riffs that squirm like maggots and lyrics soaked in bodily decay, TombWorm’s brand of filthy, old-school death metal is as grotesque as it is addictive.

Formed by veterans of the local metal circuit, the band wasted no time establishing their sonic identity — raw, unrelenting, and unapologetically gross. Within months of their first rehearsal, they released their debut EP, Worm War III, a short but blistering assault that left fans stunned and tape decks smoking.

“This EP slams. Top-notch songwriting, a filthy atmosphere, and catchy as hell. Worm-themed war death metal? Sign me up.”
— Obscene Metal Zine (2024)

“There’s a confidence to TombWorm that bands three records deep haven’t earned. It’s nasty, it’s tight, and it knows exactly what it is.”
— Rotbucket Radio Podcast

With tracks like “Burial Beneath the Gutpile” and “Caecilian Death March”, TombWorm channels the spirit of early Cannibal Corpse, Bolt Thrower, and Autopsy — but filtered through a modern, chaotic war zone of blown-out tones and reverb-drenched howls. Their songs drip with decay but move with purpose, like a swarm of worms chewing through meat.

“TombWorm doesn’t try to be clever, and that’s what makes them special. This is death metal that stinks of the grave and eats through your speakers.”
— Tape Mutilation Blog

Live, the band brings the rot in full force. Shows are chaotic, fast, and loud. TombWorm doesn’t care about stage banter—they’re there to hammer your skull into paste and vanish back into the tunnels.

Worm War III was released independently via Bandcamp and limited cassette, and quickly sold out its first pressing. Word-of-mouth and underground zines have already begun building a cult following around the band. Their visual aesthetic—splattered logos, xeroxed war-torn imagery, and a fascination with worms as harbingers of decomposition—has resonated with the tape-trading faithful and new-school maniacs alike.

As of late 2025, TombWorm is reportedly working on a full-length LP, promising more speed, more filth, and even more worms.

“Worm War III is over. The next infestation is coming.”
