GUTRICYDE began in Dallas, TX in 2019 as the brainchild of original Embalmed member Bret Smith. Shortly thereafter, Gutricyde began operating as a full band…a machine powered by gore and everything else your nightmares are made of. Bret recruited former Embalmed bandmate Dave Tillery, as well as Lance White (whom Dave also played with in Gruesome Fate). Seeing as how Gutricyde are seasoned musicians who’ve been churning out top-tier brutal output since 1991, it’s no surprise they came out swinging and immediately latched onto the throats of the unsuspecting masses. They’ve been churning out gut-slitting atrocities since day one… a full-on blitzkrieg of high caliber brutal death metal.
Their newest LP “Desires of the Morbid” is the second full length they’ve released with Texas’s own purveyors of brutality, Corpse Gristle Records (amongst a myriad of other splits, singles, etc). The record is essentially an all-you-can-eat buffet of maniacal heavy riffage, distorted churning bass, insane rhythms and nauseating growls that are sure to have you vomiting by the time you flip side one over. These are surely the terrifying sounds your abductor will be blasting from a dank, musty basement right before they gut you like the worthless swine you are.
